We experienced one of the most important spiritual and cultural celebrations in the world: Ratha Yatra in Los Angeles, California. In this video, we follow the Hare Krishna community throughout the festival — from the ceremony at the temple, the departure of the deities, and the procession through the city, to the final celebration with music, dance, and prasadam.
Through Maha’s experience and conversations with devotees and participants, we explore the spiritual meaning of the festival while members of the community share explanations and reflections about this ancient tradition organized by the community of the International Society for Krishna Consciousness.
This video combines documentary-style moments with spontaneous experiences, also showing encounters and interactions with friends from the Hare Krishna community where Maha grew up. More than just the event itself, this journey aims to show the human essence that lives within Ratha Yatra: devotion, joy, and a strong sense of community.
