How to remove a mole on the cheek using an Ablative Laser by Quadruple Board Certified Dr. Khorasani
Moles are composed of cells called melanocytes in collections termed “nests”. Since most nests have deep roots if one just shaves the top layer they often may return. Some moles may be candidates for laser ablation. This process starts with a small scraping of the top layer for histologic evaluation followed by laser ablation for the deeper roots. In this video Dr. Khorasani illustrates how he first determines appropriate depth of laser penetration by calibrating the laser on a wooden tongue depressor before applying the laser on the patient's skin.
