Gender-based violence remains one of the greatest obstacles to women empowerment affecting one-third of women worldwide and with devastating consequences for its survivors. It exists in different forms and facets, from sexual and domestic violence to psychological violence. Is there a common root to gender-based violence and why is it still so prevalent in our society? What common actions can public institutions, organizations and NGOs take to fight it?
