The ASU Pow Wow 2024: A Day to Remember
Wow! Two days, two different pow wows-what a busy weekend it's been, especially getting these videos out quickly!
The ASU Pow Wow offers online ticket sales for pre-purchase, which I unfortunately didn't do. Upon arrival, I was turned away by security due to ASU's strict backpack policy. I had to awkwardly carry my cameras in my hands, stash accessories in my pockets, and balance my tripod chair under my arm. After waiting in line at the ticket booth for one-day tickets ($15 per day), I finally made it into the pow wow-but not without some frustration. Lesson learned: better planning next time!
I've always had a soft spot for outdoor pow wows on grassy fields; they bring back so many nostalgic memories for me. I remember this pow wow being held at various locations-from the practice football fields to the softball practice field, then the Sun Devil Stadium, and now the current arena. I'm also glad they've improved the sound system; last year's pow wow was muffled, but this year's was much better!
