Doing an adult English language exchange program in Malta was one of the best experiences I've ever had. I had already studied Spanish abroad, but only English in Brazil. Now, at 40, I was able to fulfill that dream.
Although I speak English well, I really needed to review some things, and an adult exchange program was exactly what I needed. Besides, Malta is a country I'd wanted to visit for a long time, and I was invited by Sprachcaffe.
I was much younger when I did my two Spanish exchange programs (one at 19 and the other at 23). Now, at 40, I was really worried about feeling out of place. That didn't happen. In my first week of classes, there were only people in that age range or older in my class. In the second week, most were 40+ and some were in their early 20s, but all were very interested in studying.
How much does an adult exchange program in Malta cost? The price depends a lot on your accommodation, what you include, and the time of year. In the low season, for example, a two-week standard course (morning classes) + accommodation starts from €1,016. If you want meals, there is an additional cost. Remember that this price does not include travel insurance, airfare, or ground transportation.
