This is the fourth (4th) part of Rabbi Griffin's critical review of Galatians. Galatians is the foundation of the false gospel taught by Paul (or Saul) of Tarsus. Today we take a critical look at excerpts from the book The Holy Epistle to the Galatians by D. Thomas Lancaster from First Fruits of Zion (FFOZ). This is a classic Messianic attempt to reconcile the errant teachings of Paul.

Why do believers have an obsession with "making Paul make sense"? What compels followers of Messiah Yeshua to ignore vetted scholars on this topic and the plain (peshat level) words of the man himself? Because people have been mentally conditioned to believe that Paul was THE super-apostle. To deny him is tantamount to denying God. Thus, they MUST make Paul kosher. It is both futile and completely unnecessary. Here are two psychological issues that play into this passion for Paul.

Denialism: In the psychology of human behavior, denialism is a person's choice to deny reality as a way to avoid a psychologically uncomfortable truth. Denialism is an essentially irrational action that withholds the validation of a historical experience or event when a person refuses to accept an empirically verifiable reality.

Cognitive dissonance: Cognitive dissonance is the mental discomfort that results from holding two conflicting beliefs, values, or attitudes. The Bible clearly teachings that the Law is eternal, holy, and that HaShem desires all men to kept it. Paul clearly teaches the opposite. This makes us feel uncomfortable because we have been mentally conditioned to believe that Paul is the super-apostle. Thus, we adopt beliefs or ideas to help justify or explain away this conflict between our beliefs, observance and attitudes toward the Law.

Lapid Judaism is an end time movement of believers returning to a Torah-true Judaism centered on the belief that Yeshua is the promised Messiah of Israel. Lapid represents a return to the religion of the Messiah which was and is traditional Judaism.

The Aliyah a Day is an in depth daily study of the weekly Torah portion (from Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, and Deuteronomy) according to the daily readings. In Hebrew, these books are known as Breishis, Shemot, Vayikra, Bamidbar, and Davarim. Aliyah means to ascend in Hebrew. Rabbi shares insights to the Torah portion from ancient Jewish sources which include the Talmud, Midrash, Zohar, Rambam, Rashi, Rabbeinu Bachya, Ramban, and many other commentators.

The Rabbi explores these insights through the prism of emunah (faith) in Messiah Yeshua. Join the international class exploring the Law of Moses; highlighting relevant concepts for daily living!

Your generous donations keep the Aliyah a Day going out to the world! Text to Give: (817) 859-6613.
