Why is CAA required?
Our country got its independence in 1947 & after the during partition on the basis on religion new country formed "Pakistan" & "Bangladesh". These countries had people living in minorities at the time of partition. Which later on never got a chance due to Nehru-Liaquat Pact in 1950.
It turned out later on that slowly these minorities like Hindu, Sikh, Jain, Baudh, Parsi & Christians living in Pakistan, Bangladesh & Afghanistan are facing atrocities Eg. Pakistan had 28% Hindu at the time of partitions which today has been reduced to just 3%. Where did those 25% Hindu gone? The facts is they are facing atrocities every day. Forceful Conversion, Forceful Child marriages of Hindu daughter etc.
When these people facing atrocities in neighbouring countries illegally migrating to India for their well-being, isn't it that we and our government ethically & morally obligated to help them? CAA does the same. The act was passed in 2019 & implemented throughout country in March-2024. CAA gives them citizenship under this act.
