What is a Digital LED Controller?
Unlike analog controllers (which treat an entire strip as one color), digital controllers (e.g., for WS2812B, SK6812, or APA102 strips) let you control individual LEDs. This means dazzling effects like rainbow waves, pixel art, or syncing with music!
How to Connect a Digital LED Controller
1️⃣ Power Supply
Match the voltage (5V/12V/24V) to your LED strip.
Use a high-quality power source with sufficient amperage (undervolting = dim lights!).
2️⃣ Wire the Controller
Power In: Connect the strip’s +/- wires to the controller’s output.
Data Line: Attach the strip’s data input (DIN) to the controller’s DATA OUT pin.
Ground: Ensure the controller and strip share a common ground.
3️⃣ Add Accessories (If Needed)
Amplifiers for long strips.
Capacitors/resistors to protect against voltage spikes.
