At our 40th anniversary celebration, our co-founder Hannu Vaajoensuu took us back to a meeting in 1996.
Picture this: Basware had a consulting practice. Two customers approached us separately, asking for the same thing - a solution to paperless invoice processing.
That breakthrough moment led to our first e-invoicing product. The rest, as they say, "is history".
From that single founders' meeting to processing over $10 trillion in business spend in 40 years. From two curious customer requests to serving 6,500+ organizations and 2 billion invoices globally.
