In today's class, we learn how to use the most important verb of them all - the verb ''to be'' - as well as some commentary on the indefinite article (i.e. ''a, an'') in Maltese. I also introduce the concept of gender (male, female) and number (singular, plural) in the language.

merħba → welcome
saħħa → goodbye
grazzi → thank you

jien/jiena → I (or me)
int/inti → you (singular)
hu/huwa → he (or him)
hi/hija → she (or her)
aħna → we (or us)
intom → you (plural)
huma → they (or them)

m'iniex → I am not
m'intix → you are not
m'huwiex/mhux → he is not
m'hijiex/mhix → she is not
m'aħniex → we are not
m'intomx → you (pl.) are not
