There are always more than one way to solve a #math question. For this problem in the no calculator section of #sat, you either apply the quadratic formula or you can use factorisation to find the answer. Both methods will lead to the right answer but one requires a bit more memorisation and sensitivity to some number (square root of 169 is 13).
