The Bisection Method is well known method for solving an algebraic (polynomial) and transcendental equation. It is a method of interval halving and also known as Bolzano method.
In various universities numerical analysis is taught to UG/PG students of engineering and science students. It is a part of mathematics 3 and in RGPV it belongs to unit1 in engineering mathematics 3 ((BT301) and it covers, Solution of polynomial and transcendental
equations – Bisection method, Newton-Raphson method and Regula-Falsi method. Finite
differences, Relation between operators, Interpolation using Newton’s forward and backward
difference formulae. Interpolation with unequal intervals: Newton’s divided difference and
Lagrange’s formulae.
