MUGGING ATTEMPT IN BANGLADESH: STEP-BY-STEP TRACKING! ~214
📍 In this video, you will witness one of the most fascinating and equally dangerous journeys in the world in Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh: traveling on the roof of a train. Due to the country's population of nearly 200 million and severe economic hardships, we take a close look at how people risk their lives either because they cannot find tickets or due to financial struggles.
Chaos is a constant companion throughout our journey on top of the train. From people on the outside trying to hit my camera with a stick to steal it, to our escape from the police out of fear of bribery or imprisonment, to the homeless struggling to survive at the stations... This journey was incredibly challenging, not just physically, but psychologically as well. You will also witness the daily survival routine at the marketplaces set up directly on the train tracks—markets that are quickly packed up as the train approaches and immediately reopened once it passes.
Towards the end of the video, we try a popular street food, Pani Puri. Afterward, we head to a restaurant to treat a homeless brother I met at the station to a famous Bangladeshi dish, Biryani. However, the humiliating treatment and discrimination this brother faced simply because his clothes were dirty hits us in the face once again, showing just how harsh and cruel life can be here.
