Here's a beginner's guide to yarn substitution, gleaned from 15+ years of experience and illustrated with examples of my own knitting & crochet projects. Learning about fibres and textiles is a journey, and there's always something new to discover. I encourage you to experiment fearlessly and learn from your results!
