Hudson Reads Literacy at Lunch Program at MCSES
The Hudson Reads Literacy at Lunch program has been greatly benefiting students at the Montgomery C. Smith Elementary School.
Through the Hudson Reads Literacy at Lunch program, students are paired up with community members to read and talk about books during their lunch times. These mentorships help students in building confidence, self-esteem and academic skills, as well as cultivating a love and enjoyment of reading and learning. A reading mentor and child are paired through teacher recommendation or parent request to meet weekly to read and discuss great books. Onsite coordinators supervise the reading hour and offer any needed support.
