The budget for DÉTENTE Recognize No Authority was very small and we had to pay Dana Strum and Mikey Davis 50% of the budget to produce and engineer the album. So how did we end up recording at Baby O, one of the more expensive studios in Los Angeles? Dana knew as long as we recorded after management had left, we could buy off the person working nights for 20$, and he would then only report a few hours. We would always record between 10pm, and get out before 7am, when management was returning to the studio.
