Works in 3.20 - Starter Build Guide - Occultist Bane - updated 3.21 PoB
Welcome to the short update for my favorite starter build - Oculltist Bane.
Path of Exile 3.21 Crucible changes - due to changes to Masteries, we now can spend those passive points elsewhere. Some damage we lost is possible to get back from new weapon passives, pick one that increases chaos/spells damage/damage over time, dot or chaos dot multiplier, + 1 to chaos gems ( if there is such passive). Not sure what passives are possible on shields,
most likely we can boost our defense.
Path of Exile 3.20 The Forbidden Sanctum changes:
instead of Unholy Authority(old malediction) I now use Vile Bastion. I would use Unholy Authority over Vile Bastion only if you want 3 curses.
we don't need Hex Master
now Whispers of Doom is a much better choice for the build
optional support - Hex Bloom - replace Void Manipulation if you want to use it
optional - on harder bosses u can manually cast Punishment = higher damage
even with nerf for Bane (linked curses are 25% less effective) it is still excellent for maps. The main reason Bane is effective for map clearing is because of Profane Bloom explosions and that is even buffed in 3.20. For bosses, thanks to 3.20 curse changes, our single target damage (ED + Bane) is better than it was in the previous league.

Now, the main question is how much you need to invest in this build to be able to farm t16 maps in Lake of Kalandra League. The good news is the total build cost is still under 200 chaos. In my next video, you can see what trade searches I used, to find as cheap as possible all items for this build. The idea is to search for items with empty mods and then just add the final mod with your crafting bench.
