How do large cities really cope without a metro?
The world's largest cities without metros – how do they function and why haven't they yet implemented rapid rail transport? In today's episode, I analyze four massive metropolises: Bogota, Karachi, Curitiba, and Kinshasa. We'll examine their public transportation, whether it's possible to function without a metro in a multi-million-person metropolis, and whether a metro will sooner or later become a necessity.
These are important lessons for Polish cities, including Kraków, which dreams of a metro, that are still considering the direction of their development.
