DELETED SCENES from Maratac Peanut BEAST Flashlight Review
These are deleted scenes from my quick mini review of the newly released Maratac Peanut BEAST flashlight, the "BRIGHTEST IN ITS CLASS" according to the supplier, Countycomm. I liked nearly everything about this keychain flashlight EXCEPT its short runtime in Turbo & High mode. [Not surprising considering the tiny battery, a third the size of my other keychain flashlights using Li-ion AAA, aka "10440".] By experimentally adding another Maratac flashlight body to its super head however I've increased the capacity 3X, or more, it now has a belt/pocket/hat brim clip, plus it looks great! It's a Frankenstein's Monster Beast now!
Three things to keep in mind about using a battery extender:
A. Not all threads are the same but both of my Maratac AAA light bodies, including my current "Anodized Aluminum AAA Flashlight by Maratac Rev 5", bought in 2020, seem to work great. My 4Sevens Preon P1 (mk I?) body also works once screwed on tight. Most other bodies, including Olight i3e, use a different thread size and don't work.
B. This Maratac "micro searchlight", ha-ha, needs 3.7V (10440) batteries only. The blue one I happen to be using is labelled: "Ultrafire LC 10440 500mAh 3.6V". Standard 1.5V batteries don't work.
C. This is not (currently) officially sanctioned by the manufacturer and I can't guarantee safety (including thermal overload/fire, etc.), reliability, durability, etc.. Proceed only at your own risk. Not for children.
