D&D Quarantine Quest - The Ancient Dweller BBEG
This homebrew monster is brought to you by Joyce Pillow from the campaign Quarantine Quests. She wanted a more impactful introduction to her Big Bad Evil Guy and fate brought us together in a facebook post late one night. Please enjoy!
A two-headed dragon was infected with a Ulitharid tadpole, or maybe two, very long ago successfully going through Ceremorphosis. Further experiments grafted eyestalks from a beholder onto this creature giving it certain abilities of the beholder.
For some time he worked for the colony that created him, but eventually he became curious about the arcana and began studying magic in secret. When this was discovered he was marked as an outcast. The creature now labeled as Alhoondragon destroyed his colony in rage at being outcast. Centuries past and a new lair was found, filled with servants and disciples, creatures created from the survivors of the city that was destroyed to make this new lair. After getting a taste for the brains of most sentient species the beast looked for something new and stumbled upon texts about Lichdom. Curiosity eventually won over and he took the steps needed to become a Lich.
He know lives under the lost city of Zuhmond being appeased by his servants ... at least
until he is bored again and the brown dragon part of himself decides to travel to find
something new to eat.
