SSL Sigma Review - 3 years in........
I’ve been a user of the SSL sigma now for over 2/3 years. In that time I’ve mixed and produced a tonne of records on it. This video gives a breakdown of how I use it and review of day to day sessions and also how I record mixes back into the system and delivering files to mixes for clients and mastering engineers.
The connects over CAT5 to your system directly or through a router if you have more than one device attached to the network. When I made this video the system I run has a router, my Qu16 mixer, the sigma and my mac pro all connected through a Netgear switcher and once it's setup it's been really stable.
I'm using the unit through the delta control plugins within Pro Tools or logic but occasionally switch between this and the installed app for controlling the unit. I'm hoping for 360 support from SSL in the future but understand that may be a while off, if implemented at all. .
