Unlike many others, I had the opportunity to work for a startup. Join me on this trip down memory lane to learn why this was a terrible experience for me. The lesson learned from this experience is to always be interviewing. This will give you better clarity of what your current market value is and also puts you in a better position if and when you need to make a move for yourself. Just remember that the HR department is not there for you, they are there to protect the company. So file your receipts of the events and try to make sure there is a much of a papertrail as possible.
