Subsonic - Your Own Personal Streaming Server (Overview)
Subsonic is a personally hosted media server (Similar to PLEX) that streams your local media to you wherever you are in the world. While using a local player like Foobar2000, Windows Media Player, etc , are good for local listening, when you're out of the house, having Subsonic deliver your media to you is a fantastic way to keep in touch with your music . Install it on a machine that runs 24/7, set up port forwarding with your router, and off you go!
