The Logoisk tract got its name from the city of Logoisk, in the direction of which the road ran.
This name was on the map of Minsk in the first half of the 20th century. In 1956, the street was renamed in honor of the Belarusian writer and poet Yakub Kolas, and after another thirty years, one street was made into two, returning the historical name to the section of the road located closer to the ring road.
