Direkt am wunderschönen und unverbauten Sandstrand von Patara liegen die Ruinen der gleichnahmigen antiken Stadt, die Aufgrund ihres guten Erhaltungsstandes immer auch eine längere Anreise wert sind. Zudem ist Patara der Geburtsort des heiligen Nikolaus.
