Beside stalling Mateo's 2nd phase for a bit, Czerny was deployed there to mainly block the Elite guy away from Vivi's range so she can focus the Boss.

If Courier didn't last long enough at the end there, Czerny would be the one who get stunned, and even Qiubai can't tank the shield guy :')
