The son of the influential Göçer family from Kilis, Cesur Göçer, falls in love with Ilknur, a girl from a humble family. Cesur Aga begins wedding preparations, but Ilknur's heart belongs to another. On the night of the wedding, Ilknur confesses to her husband that she doesn't love him and doesn't want to be with him. Cesur is enraged. A gunshot rings out, and the next day, news spreads throughout the area that the young woman has committed suicide.
The elders decide to follow tradition and choose Ilknur's younger sister, Ömür, as Cesur Aga's new wife. But Ömür categorically refuses to accept this fate and finds refuge with the Soykan family.
