In this video, we explore how you can focus on “evidence” to choose effective training services for your team or business.
It's probably another one of my 'soap box' videos, however if you are a manager and want to develop your team, or achieve high performance, then you should take 10 minutes out to reflect on the concepts here.
While I like to believe that most people have a positive intention, that still doesn’t mean that the behaviours and services that they offer are good. When it comes to training programs in business (or personal development programs), there are a lot of people out there offering groundbreaking, inspiring, or engaging services, however over time we see a pattern where the programs fail to result in lasting skills development or behavioural change.
This results in a lot of stress for both managers and attendees, and a lot of wasted money for businesses.
When you buy a new computer, you research the feedback, the specifications, included software, after-sales support, and you consider whether it will meet your immediate and future needs. And yet when we invest in training and services, the same due diligence isn’t done – with managers instead relying on “what’s on the label” or mistaking friendships/relationships for quality service.
