Welcome to the third part of this video series on the conversion of the Kerry AG lathe to single phase.
The VFD has now been fitted and as can be seen the lathe is working perfectly.
The inverter draws around 3.7A when running the spindle at 1500RPM with the clutch engaged (chuck turning).
The VFD and braking resistor was purchased from Inverter Drive Supermarket. We have used them a number of times and their after sales support has always been excellent.

The braking resistor was recommended by IDS but unfortunately was a bit oversized for the inverter. I managed to file the lugs down to fit the screw terminals on the inverter.
This draws the mechanical work to a close and all that remains is to deliver the lathe to the customer.
