Where's My Stimulus? 2.0 Still No Stimulus? UPDATE on the Latest INFO #2 Status Not Available
Today's update on where the money is... I did a lot of research and talked to my tax company, TaxAct twice to get all the info on what is happening with many of your second stimulus checks. If you're like me, then you're wondering where your stimulus is... your friends and family have theirs and last time with the first stimulus, you received your direct deposit as anticipated. So where is it this time? When you go to the "get my payment" you receive the message "payment #2 status - not available" on the https://www.irs.gov/ website. There are various reasons you may not be receiving your refund such as you didn't file a 2019 return, or changed bank accounts, but the most common denominator right now seems to be the IRS sent money to 2019 "pass-through" accounts at bank partners of some of the big tax prep companies such as HR Block, TaxAct, Turbotax. These companies did nothing wrong the IRS mistakenly sent our money to these closed accounts and it therefore had to be sent back to the IRS, and now be redistributed to us. Hopefully sooner than later, frustrating I know.
