House Passes 3rd Stimulus Check
The 1.9 Trillion Dollar Stimulus bill Passed the House early Saturday morning. 2/27/21
House passes the bill including 3rd round of stimulus checks with a vote of 219 yes to 212 no
The bill includes $1400 stimulus checks per person and $1400 per dependent
Child Tax Credit $3000 per child under 18 or $3600 for children under 6 distributed on a monthly basis starting July
$400 a week unemployment boost starting March 15th (it was $300)
The $15 an hour minimum wage is included in the bill but was recently ruled that it could NOT be included under Budget Reconiliation (process to ram it through senate) - Pelosi said they planned to leave it in the bill anyway and would attempt every avenue to get the $15 an hour raise passed. The problem with that is now the Senate would likely only need 1 Democrat to feel 1.9 Trillion is too expensive or something that would cause them to vote no, and it would not pass, and would not be able to be rammed through with budget reconciliateion with the $15 included. This will likely lead to the Senate amending it and sending it BACK to the house to be voted on AGAIN, before President Biden could sign it.
