Transferring your Employee Provident Fund (EPF) online in India is a convenient process. You can do it through the Unified Member Portal (UAN) website. Here's a step-by-step guide on how to transfer your PF online:
Note: Make sure you have activated your UAN and linked your Aadhaar number with it before starting the transfer process.
Step 1: Visit the EPFO Member Portal

Step 2: Log in to your UAN Account
Log in using your UAN and password. If you haven't registered or activated your UAN yet, you'll need to do that first.
Step 3: Click on "Online Services"
Once logged in, on the main dashboard, click on the "Online Services" menu.
Step 4: Select "Transfer Request"
Under the "Online Services" menu, click on "Transfer Request" to initiate the PF transfer process.
Step 5: Check Eligibility
The system will check your eligibility for an online transfer. Ensure that your previous and current employer details are correctly updated in your UAN account.
Step 6: Select Type of Transfer
You will have two options:
Transfer Request: Choose this if you want to transfer your PF from one employer to another.
Transfer to Another EPF Account with Different UAN: Select this if you have more than one UAN and want to consolidate them.
Choose the relevant option and proceed.
Step 7: Enter Details
Fill in the required details for the transfer, including:
Your previous employer's PF account number or Establishment ID.
Your current employer's PF account number or Establishment ID.
Step 8: Verify Details
Check the details you've entered carefully and click on the "Get OTP" button. You will receive an OTP (One-Time Password) on your registered mobile number.
Step 9: Enter OTP
Enter the OTP you received and click the "Submit" button to verify and confirm the details.
Step 10: Request for Transfer
Once your OTP is verified, a transfer request will be generated. You can track the status of your transfer request under the "Track Claim Status" option on the main dashboard.
Step 11: Approval by Employers
Both your previous and current employers will receive a request for approval. They will need to verify the details and approve the transfer.
Step 12: Transfer Completion
Once both employers have approved the request, the transfer will be completed. You will receive a notification on the portal, and the funds will be transferred from your previous PF account to the current one.
Please note that the transfer process may take some time depending on the responsiveness of your employers and the EPFO office. It's important to ensure that all your KYC (Know Your Customer) details, including Aadhaar, bank account, and PAN, are correctly updated in your UAN account to avoid any issues during the transfer process.
