TEACHING AND LEARNING OF BIOLOGY AS A FAITH-BUILDING EXPERIENCE
As Christian biology instructors, we have an opportunity to do more than just expand students’ scientific knowledge; we can help them deepen their faith. The biology classroom is a great place to cultivate Godly reflection and practice into academic life, for both students and instructors. But how might we do this in a biology course when we have so much science content to cover? One approach is to identify opportunities to emphasize wonder and humility while listening to and addressing students’ concerns so that young people can develop a deeper love and understanding of the world God has made. In this webinar, I will draw from best practices as well as my 30 years of experience teaching biology at both a large public high school and then a Christian university.
