Christian Women in Science (CWiS) is an affiliate group of the American Scientific Affiliation (ASA). Founded in 1941, ASA is an international network of Christians in the sciences. The mission of CWIS is to encourage Christian women of all ages to pursue, sustain, and grow in a career in science, technology, engineering or math, and to encourage women in these endeavors to pursue, sustain, and grow in the Christian faith.
THE SCIENCE OF CHRIST'S CRUCIFIXION
Cahleen Shrier will present on the science of Christ's crucifixion. She details the physiological processes a typical crucified victim underwent and teaches others to see Christ's death on the cross with new understanding. The account is based on historical documentation of crucifixion procedures used during that time period.
Cahleen Shrier is a professor of Biology and has been at Azusa Pacific University since 1994. She currently teaches General Biology, Human Physiology, Mammalian Physiology, and Intro to Neurobiology. In addition to co-authoring faith and science articles, Cahleen has written and spoken extensively on the physiology of Christ's Crucifixion.
