New 2024 Mazda CX80 - Three-Row Mid-Size Crossover SUV
The all-new Mazda CX-80 blends contemporary design rooted in Japanese aesthetics with advanced technology and features, embodying Mazda's hallmark driving performance.
Upon its debut, the CX-80 offers a choice between two powertrains. The e-Skyactiv PHEV integrates a four-cylinder petrol engine with an electric motor, delivering dynamic performance alongside impressive environmental credentials. Alternatively, the e-Skyactiv D boasts a highly efficient in-line six-cylinder diesel engine with Mazda's M Hybrid Boost 48V mild hybrid system, emphasizing exceptional emission and fuel economy performance within its segment.
The e-Skyactiv PHEV achieves a total system output of 327 PS/241 kW and 500 Nm of torque, accelerating from 0-100 km/h in 6.8 seconds with a top speed of 195 km/h. It offers up to 60 km of electric-only driving, showcasing remarkable environmental efficiency with WLTP average fuel consumption of 1.6 l/100 km and CO2 emissions as low as 36 g/km. Meanwhile, the e-Skyactiv D generates 254 PS, accelerating from 0-100 km/h in 8.4 seconds with a maximum speed of 219 km/h. Its WLTP average fuel consumption ranges from 5.7 to 5.8 l/100 km, with CO2 emissions between 148 and 151 g/km.
Both powertrains are coupled with an eight-speed automatic transmission and Mazda's i-Activ All-Wheel Drive system. The Mazda Intelligent Drive Select (Mi-Drive) further enhances the driving experience with four selectable drive modes, including an EV mode exclusive to the PHEV variant, a feature already familiar from the CX-60.
Underpinning the CX-80 is a platform featuring double wishbone front and multi-link rear suspension, ensuring superior ride comfort, stability, and precise body control. Its rear-biased permanent all-wheel drive system blends the traction benefits of AWD with the agile handling characteristics akin to rear-wheel drive setups. Moreover, the CX-80 impresses with a robust towing capacity of 2,500 kg.
