Ritmos Negros - Live Session | Sofia - Bulgaria
Live session of Ritmos Negros, recorded in January 2020 in KANAAL brewery, located in Sofia, Bulgaria.
Ritmos Negros is an afroperuvian band formed by Piero Epifanía in percussion & voice, Simeon Leonidov in guitar,
Boris Taslev in bass guitar & Arnau Garrofé in saxophone, clarinet and flute.
With members from Perú, Bulgaria and Spain, the band it's not only a fusion regarding its music but its roots and is formed by some of the most renowed local musicians of the Bulgarian capital.
In my case I discovered them in a show held in Studio 5, a local jazz club that captivated me because of their skills but also for their impact.
In this session the band choose three songs that are very different between them and highlight their versatility at the time that let us see the brotherhood feeling that they claim to feel everytime they get together.
The final result is a music reunion with an incredible feeling of sharing. This feeling not only has to do with the roots of music but of the american continent, a continent that they represent - armed by their mestizo nature - very clearly from its melodies.
