Exactly one week after the Warwickshire Hunt delayed an ambulance on an emergency and two weeks after we filmed the Warwickshire Hunt hunting all over the busy A429 this week they were caught trespassing on Ministry Of Defence land. MOD police were quick to respond to the situation and once they located the hunt quickly kicked them off their land.
The hunt met at their kennels in near-by Little Kineton and headed straight over in the direction of the MOD base. We managed to flag down a passing MOD police car and told them where the hunt were, they were already aware of the situation and were trying locate the hunt. We pointed them in the direction of joint-master Barbara Hester who has the huntsmans phone number. Shortly afterwards we saw members of the army in the process of removing the entire hunt from their land although the pack of hounds had obviously split and the hunt were having trouble getting them back under control.
This incident again highlights the shocking level of arrogance of the Warwickshire Hunt. They obviously think they are above all laws and that they can do what they want when they want. There are two scenarios that happened here. 1. The Warwickshire Hunt were hunting foxes and hunted one on to MOD land. 2. Someone deliberately laid a trail across MOD land. Either way both options are illegal. We have no doubt the excuse the hunt will use is that their hounds accidentally got onto a fox and they were only trying to get them back. To this we would say that the Warwickshire Hunt shouldn’t be taking a pack of hounds out into the countryside if they can’t control them. Secondly the huntsman has a hunting horn that he can use to get his hounds back. It certainly didn’t need the entire hunt traipsing across MOD land. There are big unmissable warning signs on the perimeter of the land warning of both patrol dogs and of Section 77 of the Explosives Act. They put not only themselves in danger but also their horses and hounds.
