Singapore is a great entry-level city for those visiting Southeast Asia for the first time what with its low crime, cleanliness, easy-to-negotiate transportation system and English-speaking inhabitants. This also makes it perfect for solo travelers. Here's what I did in three days to get to know the city all by my lonesome.

Day 1: Walk everywhere. Start off in Chinatown and make your way to downtown and then cruise the Jubilee Walk, which takes you through sites highlighting the history and culture of Singapore. Splurge on a cocktail and view at Ce La Vie atop the Marina Sands hotel and then promenade the sky walkway through the Super Tree Grove.

Day 2: Go on a couple of tours. This way you can get background of the city while doing something fun. I toured the Singapore Zoo as well as did a guided tour of Chinatown's hawker stalls.

Day 3: Take the MRT and go hiking. VivoCity was a short subway ride and a quick but invigorating hike to Faber Peak on my way to the beautiful Henderson Waves. This Southern Ridge hike also takes you through three parks.
