In this adobe illustrator tutorial, I will teach you to create Spirograph vector art design by using Blend tool in illustrator. This video makes illustration Design for Beginners so easy.
Creating a Spirograph effect in Adobe Illustrator involves using the Polar Grid tool, the Rotate tool, and some creative experimentation. Here's a step-by-step guide:
Step 1: Create a New Document
Open Adobe Illustrator and create a new document.
Choose the size and resolution you prefer.
Step 2: Draw a Circle
Select the Ellipse tool (shortcut: L) and draw a circle while holding down the Shift key to maintain proportions.
Fill the circle with a color of your choice.
Step 3: Create a Polar Grid
Select the Polar Grid tool (located under the Line Segment tool).
Click on the artboard and a dialog box will appear. Set the Concentric Dividers to 1 and the Radial Dividers to a higher number (e.g., 36).
Click OK.
Step 4: Rotate the Polar Grid
Select the Selection tool (shortcut: V).
Hover over the center of the circle until you see the rotation cursor, then hold down the Alt/Option key and click.
In the Rotate dialog box, set the Angle to 360/number of radial dividers (e.g., 360/36 = 10 degrees).
Check the "Preview" box to see the result, then click OK.
Step 5: Clip the Grid
With both the circle and the grid selected, right-click and choose "Make Clipping Mask" from the context menu.
Step 6: Customize
You can further customize your Spirograph effect by adjusting the stroke weight, changing colors, or duplicating the spirograph and applying different rotations.
Optional Step: Blend Tool
For a smoother transition between lines, you can use the Blend tool.
Draw a line or shape, duplicate it, and position the duplicates around the circle.
Select the shapes, go to Object then Blend and Make, then adjust the number of steps in Object then Blend and after that Blend Options.
Step 7: Save Your Artwork
Once you're satisfied with your Spirograph effect, save your artwork.
Feel free to experiment with different settings and shapes to create unique Spirograph designs.
