Creating a circular pixel stretch effect in Photoshop involves manipulating the pixels in a circular pattern to achieve a stretched or distorted appearance. Here's a step-by-step guide on how to create this effect:
Step 1: Open a New Document
Open Photoshop and create a new document by going to File then New.
Step 2: Add an Image
Open the image you want to apply the pixel stretch effect to by going to File then Open and selecting the image file.
Step 3: Duplicate the Background Layer
In the Layers panel, right-click on the Background layer and choose "Duplicate Layer." This will be your working layer.
Step 4: Apply the Radial Blur
Go to Filter then Blur then Radial Blur. Set the Amount to control the intensity of the blur. The higher the value, the more pronounced the stretch effect will be. Choose "Zoom" as the Blur Method and adjust the Angle and Center as needed. Click OK.
Step 5: Apply the Polar Coordinates Filter
Go to Image then Image Rotation after that 90 degrees CW to rotate the image 90 degrees clockwise.
Next, go to Filter then Distort then Polar Coordinates. Choose the "Rectangular to Polar" option and click OK.
Step 6: Stretch the Pixels
Rotate the image back to its original orientation by going to Image then Image Rotation then 90 degrees CCW.
Use the Rectangular Marquee Tool (M) to select a circular area in the center of the image.
With the circular area selected, go to Edit then Transform then Warp. Drag the control points to stretch and distort the selected area. Press Enter when satisfied.
Step 7: Final Adjustments
Make any final adjustments or add additional effects to enhance the overall look of your image.
Optionally, you can add a layer mask to control where the effect is applied selectively.
Step 8: Save Your Image
Save your final image by going to File and Save As or File then Export then Export As.
