This Dolphin Isn't Real
What if you had to spend the rest of your life in an empty room. You could never go outside, and four times a day, these aliens would come in, stand on your face, make you run around, and throw fish at you while other aliens watched and laughed.
Fortunately, we don't have to. But the same can't be said for dolphins.

If we were dolphins, our lives would be shorter, we’d get sick all the time, we'd have access to less than 1% of the space we’d use in our natural environment, we'd have no mental stimulation even though we’re the second smartest animal on the planet, we'd suffer with extreme psychological stress, and we’d constantly be stuffed with antidepressants, antipsychotics, and tranquilisers.
It's certainly not a life that any of us wish to lead. Marine parks seem to be losing traction these days, but it's not fast enough. Companies like SeaWorld and Marine Land still imprison dolphins and other animals, simply for the entertainment of humans.
Luckily, Edge Dolphin Spirit are working towards making this reality obsolete, with their animatronic dolphin. This is a team that everyone should be aware of because their aim to end the captivity of animals in marine parks. You may have heard of Edge Innovations because they worked on Free Willy, Flipper, and Star Trek IV! With their animatronics, Edge Dolphin Spirit aims to create a new kind of educational and entertainment experience.
Right now, they’re running a GoFundMe which aims to fund the launch of a pilot attraction in the Summer of 2022, which will prove to the world, once and for all, that these animals no longer need to be imprisoned for the enjoyment of another species.
The robot dolphin is indistinguishable from it's fleshy counterpart, at least according to the reactions of my idiot friends. But can you tell the difference between a robot dolphin and a real one?
