Open me in full-screen to watch in HD! The small menus can be difficult to read on a phone or tablet. I recommend watching this video on a computer or laptop. Unfortunately, the screen recording software I use is unable to record my mouse location. I’ve circled specific submenus to help you see what I’m doing. If you have any questions, leave a comment and I’ll get back to you (or point you in the direction of a resource that can answer your question :D ).

**More notes on masking**
Using masks is one of the ways you can control or hide parts of a layer. In general, a mask layer is made of black and white. Areas in black with HIDE the portion of the layer the mask is applied to. Areas in white will allow the image layer to show through.
It takes a while to get used to the concept of hiding/showing parts of your layer by essentially coloring with black or white.
Pressing “ALT” while clicking on the mask layer will show the mask layer. You can modify this layer directly by clicking on the mask preview square (located to the right of the Mask layer name) and coloring with the brush tool or gradient tool.
FYI, in my demo, the effects of the mask are inverted (I’m not sure exactly why, but it works).
