In a little over an hour's time, the Mayor of Oldham, GINNI ALEXANDER, will either sit on her hands, complicit in the cover up or call for a 'recorded vote' and provide councillors with the opportunity to publicly support SEAN FIELDING in his refusal to refer the matters of corruption and child sexual exploitation to the Home Office.
As the eyes Oldhamers and beyond, watch on, SEAN FIELDING, in light of the revelations that he and his Council kept news hidden of a convicted child sex offender from within their midst, is also facing mounting pressure to issue a statement why Labour Party Cllrs JAMES LARKIN & MARTIN JUDD were removed from their positions.
If rumours are to be believed, there is also the not insignificant matter of Cllr RIAZ AHMAD and in what capacity he will be attending this evening's meeting...if he attends at all.
This evening, JIM McMAHON's Labour Party run Oldham Council finds itself on a cliff edge. Is there any coming back? Will the Lib Dem Leader HOWARD SYKES dare issue a statement confirming when he was told that his 'friend' Cllr ROD BYLTH had been charged for child sex offences? Will the Conservative Leader JOHN HUDSON find the courage to call for a vote? Or will the Independent Failsworth Councillor BRIAN HOBIN stand alone in opposition to the grooming and gang rape of the town's children?
