Hunter Mountain - August 1986 -- Hello Dolly / Bill Bailey / Around the World
The Ablemen perform at Hunter Mountain, NY, National Polka Festival in the 1986 Battle of the Bands Competition and show their versatility with a medley of songs. Of particular note is Joe Annecchino's impression of Louis Armstrong, Jim Obrotka's impression of Ethel Merman, and Ray Skorka singing Around The World along with Jim's counterpoint vocal of Bill Bailey. The group took first place in the competition that year, the first of three successive years. in 1985, the band placed second, and their 1985 trophy can be seen in front of the bass cabinet toward the end of the video.
