Pros:
Intriguing / Storyline +++++
Challenging +++
Atmosphere / Lovecraft vibes +++
Addictive / Same "one more turn" effect Civ VI have
Soundtrack / Sound effects / Graphically stylish & sober fitting its theme
Narrative roguelike / Interesting concept +++
Very well optimized / Runs on a toaster
Cons:
Destabilizing to start with / No the slightest clue what to do / No guide nor explanation (which is the best approach and totally adapted/justified if you ask me but some will hate it)
Unfriendly to any new players who wouldn't want to invest quite some time to experiment and learn
Opposition between concept and gameplay (not in the philosophical way but literally and it will up to you to decide if that suits you)
In a nutshell... Yes or No?
This is without a doubt what people call a niche game, without any tutorial but those introductory words: "Explore. Take risks. You won't always know what to do next. Keep experimenting".
This perfectly illustrates its principle.
This is an indie narrative roguelike single player card game with a unique approach from Alexis Kennedy (Sunless Sea), a very Lovecraftian atmosphere.
The only thing you have to keep in mind, is to show some patience, perseverance, and willpower to stay away from any guides, videos and tips all over the internet because the whole point is to experiment and discover.
According to me, this is definitely a YES ! I do like this game, but this one isn't for everyone.
Tested at 1080p max settings recording the video (ultra quality) watching a stream on a secondary monitor, it ran perfectly on my average rig dedicated to Youtube.
