Episode 19 of a video series exploring life in Ancient Greece during the Classical period. Today we're talking about Sparta, undoubtedly one of the most famous city-states of Ancient Greece. We'll discuss its population, its political system, its renowned public education system with the agogee, the role of women, daily life, and the place of the army in this Greek city-state.
We'll also take the time to study the Peloponnese peninsula in general, with a significant focus on Corinth and Argos, two leading cities of the region. Finally, we can't overlook the Peloponnesian League, Sparta's alliance against Athens' Delian League!
