Defining a trading edge goes something like this:
Does large sample size of action give you positive / desired result?
More simply put… If you take 1000 trades, do you make money?
If so - Congrats - You have a trading edge.
All of our actions should be in alignment with our edge.
I talk about it frequently, but remember that the market can and often will reward bad trading behavior
The problem with this is that if you take a trade that has NO EDGE, you can - and often will - GET PAID!
You may be thinking, “what’s the issue, I got paid?!”
The issue is it won’t be repeatable over a long series of doing that exact same thing.
Stick to your framework, and make sure you are assessing your trades based on how well you adhered to your framework too.
