By Hand - Expressive Drawing for Beginners
This online class is designed for students interested in learning the basic skills of drawing and sketching and will be led by Visual Arts Chair, Karina Hean. This workshop will teach students how to use basic drawing techniques such as sketching with shape gesture drawing and planar analysis to assist students in breaking down a complex subject (their hand) into basic shapes and values (lights/darks) in creating representational, realistic drawings in pencil. Additionally, we will explore how to stage the subject in expressive positions and use the composition to reinforce a particular emotion or theme.
