I love Blender...
..yet I don't spend much time animating characters in it. It's not that I can't, I just don't think I'm very good at characters. Building them, or animating them. I'm more of a "play to your strengths" kind of person.
But that doesn't mean that I can't teach other people how to use the stuff in Blender so they can show off their mad skills. And so I decided to get to Rigify. It's actually one of the first things I ever played with in Blender. It has been in there for quite some time.
Rigify is a lot more powerful than what I show you here - you can actually use it to create your own creature rigs, so if you have a Chimaera you want to animate, it'll sort out all the hard stuff for you, like the wings, the tail, with all the controllers you will ever need.
Give this a spin. I know you won't regret using the add-on
