I love Blender...
But, if I'm honest, I don't get to do a lot of animation in it. I tend to do these tutorials, the One By Ones and then some VFX bits with it. Maybe a flying logo now and again. No, most of my animation is done in either After Effects or Maya.
But the principles are the same, right? I mean, if you can lip-sync in one you can lip-sync in the others, yes?
Yes, you can.
The principles are the same. It's all about matching the mouth shape to the sound, and if you can load in the audio clip and you can scrub the timeline to find each of those sounds plus if you can use shapes set into your geometry and blend between them, then you can lip sync.
So yes, you can easily do it in Blender. so just to prove it I have. So in doing this you will see a bit of animation done entirely in Blender by me! I know, right?
Also, you can get the final file - all images, models and animation - here on gumroad for you to pick through at your leisure. If you fancy bunging me a quid or a dollar, feel free, but you don't have to.
